Being in Relationship – We Are All Connected in the Dance of Life

The Science of Relationships – We Are All Connected

bigstock Energy Between Fingers 1371749 300x199 Being in Relationship – We Are All Connected in the Dance of LifeBuckminster (Bucky) Fuller,  a man I studied and admired very much, many times talked about the gross inaccuracy of our perceptions regarding the universe and nature. For instance, the sun doesn’t rise in the morning or set in the evening. The Mother Earth rotates and we turn toward Father Sun in the morning and away in the evening. Each night, we have an earth eclipse of the sun and do it all over again every 24 hours. There’s no up or down in the universe, only in and out. When we look into the night sky, we see a universe that existed millions or billions of years ago, but no longer exists as we see it. The light that shows up as stars was emitted long ago and the position of the stars we “see” has long since changed or even disappeared in the death of a star. We tend to think there is no connection between human beings and the rest of the universe. Many even believe that we “run” the universe in the sense that we believe that if we do certain things, we can bring about a certain type of future. Of course, there is not a shred of evidence to support this notion.

For every person who worked hard, did their best to do the right things and “made it” in life, there are many more whose dreams remain unfulfilled.  When we look at the skill-sets and life journey to the presidency of George W. Bush verses that of Abe Lincoln, it’s difficult to believe skill or hard work had anything to do with it. As W. Edwards Deming used to say, “It’s the luck of the draw.” It comes down to something more like karma or destiny.

This is not to say we shouldn’t work hard, do the “right” things, or reach for our higher purpose in life. Of course we should. But I wonder if it isn’t time that we begin to turn more of our attention from “out there” to a more inward journey. Everything that happens in the outside world happens inside out. Our reality is created first in the mind and then manifests in the outside reality. Why is this understanding so important for a conscious CType? Because a Conscious CType must be able to heal the parts of her mind that create the illusion of separation. She does this by consciously moving toward her opposite CType, especially in times of trouble. Unlike all other living creatures, only human beings have a mind that creates the illusion that we are somehow separate from each other, nature or God. While that separation may at first appear to be a curse, there is a blessing in it too. Human beings are blessed to have the opportunity to awaken from the illusion, to become what we have always been, to remember, to experience our divinity while in the body.

Everything, and I do mean everything, is energy in its many forms. The energies of the natural world only and always dance with each other in synergistic ways. As Conscious CTypes we too must learn to dance in the joy of our connectedness. We are all in this life together.

The challenges we face as a race today are more of a function of the mind seeing “others” and nature as something to overcome or destroy. We now, more than at any time in human history, have the opportunity to wake up to the simple truth that we are not separate from anything. We are One. What we do to “others” and our Mother Earth, we do to ourselves. When we create victims, we shall be victimized in one way or another. Thankfully, this works in both ways. When we love ourselves and others, we bring more love into our lives. When our work benefits everyone, including community and nature, it benefits us. As the Hopi say, “The time for the lone wolf is over.” It’s time for the emergence of Conscious CTypes.

Think I’ll go to the beach this evening to watch a beautiful earth eclipse of the sun.
